My name is Ms. Gritmacker. I have 2 daughters. They are both married. Dayna and Matt have 5 boys and 1 girl. Amy and Ric have 4 girls and 1 boy. They all live in Newton. We get together a lot and it can be quite noisey!
I rescued a Great Perinese dog last fall. Her name is Bailey and she is all white. She likes to camp with us and loves the water only up to her belly! I keep trying to keep teaching her to fetch but she just sits down and looks at me like I'm nuts. She has me trained to go and retrieve the ball! I also have a 2 aquariums. There are a total of 10 fish. I keep forgetting their names, except for Homer. He's the boss of his aquarium. I have always had a difficult time remembering names but I do remember to feed them! My grandkids found me a box turtle who lives in the window well in the basement. The turtle's name was Murphy, until she laid eggs last summer. Now, she goes by Mrs. Murphy. I think she likes that she lives right near the garden because she's always eating the crickets and grasshoppers.
I love to garden and go camping and hiking. This year, we went to Colorado and hiked every day. It was so much fun in the mountains. And, it was a lot cooler than Kansas!
I love to read, especially outside. Camping, fishing, gardening, canning and playing with my grandkids takes up most of my summer. I like to hike, go to my grandkids ball games, and even sew when I have the time.
