3rd Grade Teacher
I graduated from Kingman High School in May of 2003.
After attending Pittsburg State University, Pratt Community College (and changing my major several times), I graduated from Wichita State with a bachelor's degree in Creative Writing in 2007. Writing has always been a passion of mine, but not the "career" of my dreams.
In 2010, I decided to return to school to obtain my degree in education to pursue a lifelong dream of teaching. I attended Fort Hays State University online and worked in local schools for observations and student teaching( Apollo Elementary in Goddard, St. Patrick's, and KES). I student taught in the 4th grade classroom of Mr. Steve Bangert, in the fall of 2012. I graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's in elementary education in December 2012.
I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education.
I also have a bachelor's degree in creative writing.
I was fortunate to student teach, during the fall semester of 2012, at KES and substitute during the spring semester. I began my full-time teaching career in the fall of 2013. I teach third grade, and I love it!
I have been married to Geoff since May of 2009. We have two children, Aiden and Madison. Aiden will be 3 in September and Madison turns 1 in August. We have a long haired Chihuahua named Gigi.
I have a large family (3 brothers and 3 sisters; 7 nieces and 6 nephews), so in my down time I spend as much time with family as possible. I also enjoy reading and listening to music. A new found love of mine is working out and running with my sister. I am currently training to run my first half marathon in October of this year!
