I graduated from Cunningham High School in 1988. I then went on to continue my education and play softball at Cowley County Community College. My goal initially was to be a kindergarten teacher. In 1990 I enrolled in a teaching college in Tahlequah Oklahoma. Graduating fron Northeastern State University with an Elementary degree and a Language Arts endorsement K-9. Unable to find an elementary teaching position in Kansas, I took an early childhood special education position in Belle Plaine Kansas. With this new endeavor, I enrolled in Emporia State University to pursue a Masters degree in Science focusing on Early Childhood Special Education. I have completed my last course at Emporia State University this December for my Adaptive Endorsement in Special Education K-6.

This is the beginning of my fourth year teaching special education resource room K-3 at KES. I am teaching kindergarten through third grade special education. I am responsible for provide specialized individualized instrution in the areas of reading, math, science, writing, adaptive skills, nutrition and health, social - interaction skills and behavior skills.
Prior to teaching in Kingman, I was an independent contractor for Johnson County Infant and Toddler Services. I taught with multiple service provides in Johnson County in the home. I provided special education services to infants, toddlers and parents in their home and out in the community. We would work on social play skills, cognitive thinking skills, language and communication skills, self-help skills and behavior skills. I worked for JCITS for three years. Before becoming and Infant and Toddler Service provider I taught early childhood special education, three to five year olds for fifteen years in Belle Plaine, Junction City, and Olathe Public School. When we were raising our children I worked for Parents As Teachers two years in Manhattan, KS; homeschooled for two years and worked for private homeschool organizations in Olathe. During this time I taught language arts and reading, physical education, art and media specialty K-8.
Tim and I celebrated "23" years of marriage this summer! We have been blessed with two beautiful children, Ty and Thomas. Ty will be a junior at KHS and Thomas will be a eighth grader at KMS. Our family enjoys anything that has to do with the great outdoors,,,fishing, hunting, camping, swimming,skiing, football, hockey, basketball, baseball, tennis, cross country, and volleyball. They also enjoy riding four-wheelers, BMX bike racing and motorcycles. We also have an amazing dog named "Peanut!"
My hobbies include: reading, gardening, baking, swimming and anything to do with my family, children and people. I love to be engaged with children learning, teaching and playing. I enjoy spending time with my kids, family, church and community.
